catch them young
i was in madurai a week back for a few days.i had plenty of time on my hands and i did a lot of reading besides going for long morning walks.on my return home,i would invariably stop for a drink.no coke or pepsi for me.it was tender coconut.
the drink that rejuvenates.it is a most nutritious and wholesome beverage provided by nature.it is very suitable for the tropical countries to fight the heat.it is a diuretic and it also promotes digestion.it kills worms in your intestines and keeps the body cool.it has a high potassium and mineral content and used for intravenous therapy.it is fatfree and an excellent remedy for flatulence. low in carbs and low in sugar,it even controls diabetes.the list is endless.it is not only a drink; it is a wonder food. no wonder, our ancestors considered coconut to be a sacred fruit.
after your workouts just go for tender coconuts.catch them young.you will get all the water that this wonderful onemonth old fruit has. it will rejuvenate you like no other drink can.

gs, I have heard so much about the revitalising and therapeutic properties of tender coconut juice but to my bad luck, I just haven't been able to develop a taste for it. I will keep trying! :)
I remember that one of the songs in "Guru" was filmed at this really beautiful temple in Madhurai - did you go there?
lr,try taking it first thing in the morning.you might start getting used to it.it is so good that it should not be missed.i haven't seen 'guru',but i presume it must be meenakshi temple. yes,i visited meenakshi temple which i do during every visit.
hmmm yummy tender coconut water..we still grow in our village.Come to our place mama definitely we shall serve you lot
thanks hema for your invite. my visit to your village is long overdue. but then you are away in phil.i have to time my visit with yours.
i love coconut water but i recently read that the coconut fruit is really high in fat and bad for health. true or false?
uncle,we call it 'daab' and it used to be my breakfast every single day when i used to work in b'bay. there was this guy who would get me a daab every day.
and lools, i cannot live without coconut and coconut milk, so many of my most favorite recipes have either coconut or the milk!
i guess anything in excess is bad...
hi rums
nice to see you back. 'daab' was my favourite drink during my kolkata days.in kerala, food is cooked in coconut oil and coconut milk is used extensively in various dishes in kerala and mangalore.it is good to be addicted to coconut!
